TemplateEdit Tool

Summary

The TemplateEdit tool allows the user to view the current set of representative template waveforms and modify them by performing various operations. The goal is to end up with a template waveform that represents the characteristic waveform for each unit in the population

Details

The input data set is nmClassFrag (the result of the KMeansCluster spike sorting tool). The output data set is nmTemplate. nmTemplate data differs from nmClassFrag data because nmTemplate data has a field for storing a representative template waveform for each unit in the population.

The template waveforms are used by some Spike Train Analysis tools, such as CreateSimulation. The TemplateEdit tool controls let you display incident numbers and timestamp information; overlay and align incidents for visual comparison; and remove incidents from inclusion in a template.
